Douglas J. Feith
Whether one passionately agrees or vehemently disagrees with current American foreign policy, the domestic debate over American involvement overseas has become more and more heated. Douglas J. Feith was the Bush Administration's strategist for the war on terrorism and served as Under Secretary of Defense for Policy from July 2001 until August 2005. The No. 3 civilian at the Pentagon, Mr. Feith was instrumental in crafting policies for the Afghanistan and Iraq campaigns. Lauded and criticized, Feith was at the heart of the most sensitive deliberations throughout his Pentagon tenure and helped shape many of the Bush Administration's policies abroad.
